Hello, I recently started a new character and would like some advice on skill training from people who have already gotten into HACs, AFs, and Itties.
I have read many forum posts and yet haven't ever really read a proper skill approach beyond you must do Advanced learning and train for T2 everything, I think a post like this might also help a lot of newer players plan a good progression into T2 ships. Not all of us want to just get into a big battleship/battlecruiser (which I will anyhow I'm sure).
I have the Ishtar as my current goal, and basically focusing on staying in the small ships. I have already trained the following in approx. this order:
-Adv Learning 3 -T2 small and med drones -Frigate 4 -Engy 4 -Electrics 4 -Mechanic 4 -Hull Upgrades 4 -Armor comps 2 -Cruiser 3 -Nav/AB 2 -Gunnery/Small Hybrid 3 -misc lvl 2's 3's
also my stats with mostly +3 Imps are:
Int ----21 Perc--20 Charù9 Will---18 Mem--24
So, the way I see it the Ishtar/Vexor are not very dependant on Gunnery (using mostly NOS/drones) I could get by without focusing too much on that. But, seeing as I'm training the Assault ship skill and Mech/Engy 5 I might as well hop into an Ishkur (which isnt too dependant on gunnery either) and play with that while I train T2 Heavy drones and cruiser 5 (blah). So if I am training Frig 5 then I am wondering about Interceptors (which would be fun at times and Evasive Maneuver wouldn't hurt in the AF) But then I'm spending time training Evasive 5 that I could train Mech/Engy 5. Not only that, but the Itty would be more dependant on gunnery than drones so I might as well train to Hybrids to 5 for T2, which also wouldn't hurt for the AF, but would raise the training time for the AF by about 2 weeks.
Soooo anyhow, if you are still reading and followed what I said ( you must have trained Deciphering Encrypted Messages 5 ) what I want to know basically is:
If you had to start over with the above skills/attributes, would you
A) Take the time training for T2 small guns and the Itty
B) Skip the Itty for now but still train T2 small guns for the AF
C) Train the Ishkur and more drone skills
I'm not worried about running missions (I got that covered) and would probably be pvp'n in small gangs, but I would like a somewhat direct approach to focus towards. Like I said I will probably be in a AF/cruiser alot while I train for the HAC.
Obligatory PS: I have no intentions about flying the Ishtar without proper skills (ie. Heavy Drone T2, Hull Upgrades 5 blah, blah ... and I know T2's are the l337 etc etc
